Becoming a Pilates Instructor is an incredibly rewarding career. I can attest to it, as I watch the rewards of my labor every day! I began my Pilates Journey hoping to recover from an injury, and now I am a Balanced Body Master Instructor! Mat Pilates Instructor

Pilates Mat exercises are the foundation of the Pilates method. The Balanced Body Pilates Mat Instructor Certification Program includes the full repertoire of Pilates exercises, along with modifications and variations to make your program successful for a wide range of clients. 

 

The Balanced Body Pilates Mat Certification Program Includes:  

  • Instruction​s in the complete pre–Pilates, and Balanced Body Pilates Mat exercises. 

  • A detailed, full-color manual with accompanying videos to support and enhance your learning experience.

  • Mat class design and delivery based on the Movement Principles and ​the Balanced Body Programming System.

  • Development of cueing, coaching​, and teaching skills.

To become a fully qualified Balanced Body Pilates Mat Instructor, students must complete the following:

Reformer Pilates Instructor

The Universal Reformer is an extraordinary piece of exercise equipment​, and center piece of a Pilates studio! It was originally designed and developed by Joseph Pilates, and till this day it is an invaluable training tool. Learn how to use and teach Reformer Pilates exercises to create powerful programming designed to optimize your clients​​' potential. 

 

The Balanced Body Pilates Reformer Certification Program Includes:

Comprehensive Pilates Instructor

The Mat and the Reformer complement each other​. When the Trapeze Table, Chair, Barrel​, and small equipment​are added to your certification, ​you will have learned the complete Balanced Body Pilates Instructor Training System. Learn how each apparatus works independently, and how together they make the whole system.

Balance Body Pilates Certification Courses

Movement Principals Course  

This course provides a solid foundation of the Balanced Body Pilates Instructor Training System while giving you a deep understanding of how the body works and how to make it work better. Stimulating, personalized​, and deeply rooted in the art and science of movement, this course focus​es on ​the practical understanding of common movement patterns which prepares instructors to be excellent at problem solving, goal setting​, and learning new exercise techniques with ease. Movement Principles is the pre​requisite ​course for all Balanced Body Pilates certification programs and includes five sections: Whole Body Movement, Trunk Integration, Lower Body Training, Upper Body Training, ​and Mobility and Restoration. ​

 

Movement Principals course includes: 

  • Overview of anatomy​, including bones and joints in specific relationship to movement. 

  • Foundational exercises which apply to any movement and fitness setting. 

  • A detailed, full-color manual with accompanying videos to enhance your learning experience. 

  • Cueing, coaching and teaching tips.

By incorporating the Balanced Body Movement Principles, you will have the power to be a transformative teacher, coming away with a complete toolbox for effectively training clients to recover from injuries, improve their general fitness​, and enhance their performance.

Mat Course Part 1

This course includes an introduction to the history and principles of the Pilates method​, ​and introduction of beginner and intermediate level exercises. Each exercise includes modifications, challenges, the purpose of the exercise, and any precautions for injuries and special populations. You will learn how to design and teach group classes, including guidelines for teaching seniors and pre and post–natal classes.

 

Mat part 1 course is 16 hours long, divided over a long weekend:

Friday      3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Saturday  2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Sunday     9:00 am - 5:00 pm. 

Mat Course Part 2

In this course you will learn the remaining intermediate and advanced level Mat exercises for a complete understanding of the Pilates Mat program. The course also includes lectures on progressive skill development to achieve the advanced exercises, class design and programming for intermediate and advanced classes, and how to create successful Mat classes.

 

Mat part 2 course is 16 hours long, divided over a long weekend:

Friday      3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Saturday  2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Sunday     9:00 am - 5:00 pm. 

Mat Course Part 3

In this course you will learn how to enhance your Mat classes by adding props such as ​the magic circle, foam roller, resistance bands, and balls to the traditional Mat exercises. Adding props makes class more dynamic, creative and fun! In addition, the Balanced Body Programming System is introduced to make class design easy and effective.

Sunday     9:00 am - 5:00 pm. 

Reformer Course Part 1

This course includes an introduction to the Reformer, equipment set up, ​and safety and maintenance of the Pilates Reformer. You will learn beginner and intermediate level exercises ​while improving lower body alignment, creating balanced muscle development, and learning a protocol for effectively training the upper body.

 

Reformer part 1 course is 16 hours long, divided over a long weekend:

Friday      3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Saturday  2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Sunday     9:00 am - 5:00 pm. 

Reformer Course Part 2

In this course you will learn intermediate and advanced level exercises, ​with modifications ​and program designs for pre–and post–natal clients, clients with osteoporosis, clients with lower back injuries, dynamic assessment and correcting common dysfunctional movement patterns.

 

Reformer part 2 course is 16 hours long, divided over a long weekend:

Friday      3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Saturday  2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Sunday     9:00 am - 5:00 pm. 

Reformer Course Part 3

This is the pinnacle course of the Reformer​. You will learn advanced and super advanced level exercises. Progressive sequences designed to teach students advanced movement skills are included along with an introduction to the revolutionary Principle Based Programming System​, helping you to create successful classes for clients at any level.

 

Reformer part 3 course is 16 hours long, divided over a long weekend:

Friday      3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Saturday  2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Sunday     9:00 am - 5:00 pm. 

Trapeze Table / Cadillac / Tower Course
This course includes a thorough introduction to ​the Trapeze Table and Tower as well as equipment set up, safety​, and maintenance. Beginner, post–rehabilitation, intermediate, and advanced level exercises ​will also be covered, including sequencing programs using multiple pieces of equipment. 

Pilates Chair Course
This course includes exercises and variations for the original Wunda chair, the EXO chair​, and the split pedal Combo Chair. 

Pilates Barrels Course
This course includes exercises and variations for the Step Barrel (spine corrector) and Ladder Barrel. Both are excellent tools for enhancing spinal mobility and core strength.
